Size

A compact finger training block designed for climbers focused on efficient, repeatable gains. The Unlevel Edge is engineered to promote equal finger loading, improved grip alignment, and maximum force production—while helping reduce unnecessary joint strain and overall injury risk.

The edge features a generous comfort radius with variable depth to fully support the fingers during high-load efforts. Average depth is 28mm, with a 20mm flat active grip surface designed to properly support the DIP joint and encourage consistent engagement across all fingers.

Lightweight and skin-friendly, this block excels in controlled strength work, warmups, and rehab work where precision and equal loading matter most.

Perfect For

  • Max-effort weighted lifts from the floor
  • Crag warmups and between-burn finger activation
  • No-hang training sessions
  • Rehab and return-to-climbing phases that require balanced finger loading

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the No Hang Unlevel Edge and how is it different from a standard edge block? +
The No Hang Unlevel Edge is a specialized finger-training tool with a subtly unlevel edge face that reduces skin drag and promotes natural fingertip alignment. Unlike standard flat-edge blocks, the unlevel design encourages a more ergonomic open-hand grip position, reducing strain on finger pulleys while maintaining training specificity. It's ideal for climbers who want the benefits of unlevel-edge training without the aggressive feel of podium-style designs.
How do I train with the No Hang Unlevel Edge? +
Use the Unlevel Edge with a loading pin and weight plates for precise, progressive resistance. The subtly unlevel edge face reduces skin drag and promotes natural fingertip alignment for comfortable open-hand positioning. Perform controlled hangs (5-10 seconds) with 2-3 minutes rest between sets, focusing on perfect form. Start with light loads and progress only when you can complete all reps with zero pain. For detailed protocols matched to your goals, see our Finger Training Guide.
What equipment do I need to use the No Hang Unlevel Edge? +
You'll need a standard loading pin and weight plates to apply progressive resistance. That's it—no mounting hardware, pull-up bar, or permanent installation required. The Unlevel Edge's lightweight, portable design lets you train anywhere with just your weights and a flat surface.
Can I use the No Hang Unlevel Edge for rehab or injury prevention? +
Yes—the Unlevel Edge's subtle unlevel design reduces skin drag and promotes natural fingertip alignment, making it a comfortable option for tendon rehab and injury prevention. Safety note: Always get clearance from a climbing-specialized PT before starting rehab training. Begin with sub-maximal, pain-free loads and isometric holds only. Progress gradually and stop immediately if you feel sharp pain, joint tenderness, or increased swelling.
Is the No Hang Unlevel Edge portable for travel? +
Yes—the Unlevel Edge is lightweight, compact, and requires no mounting hardware. Pack it with your Load Dyno (or use resistance bands at your destination) to maintain finger strength training anywhere. Ideal for climbing trips, hotel gyms, or home use without permanent installation.
Can beginners use the No Hang Unlevel Edge? +
Yes—with proper progression. Beginners should start with light loads, focusing on perfect open-hand form and pain-free movement. Safety note: If you're new to finger-specific training, begin with sub-maximal efforts and limit dedicated sessions to 1-2x/week with 48+ hours rest between. Consult a climbing coach or PT if you have any history of finger, wrist, or elbow injuries.
