Our Process
We draw inspiration from boulder problems we do and love. Grab hard, try hard. We try to capture that very sensation of climbing "hard" and "well" give us and try to replicate that essence into our climbing holds.
We absolutely love comfortable, smooth and simple climbing hold designs. We try not to over complicate our designs with artistic patterns, high texture or large footprints (with minimal grip surface). We also don't put logos on anything.
Β
We focus on high value design with no constraints.
We control our process by 3D modeling our shapes. This allows us to fully explore our concepts prior to launching and ensuring each detail is perfect. We can also refine our holds as needed based on user feedback which will help improve our products over time.
Because of this we are not locked into any traditional hold making or manufacturing constraints. If there is any adjustment or tweak that is needed to make our products better, we do it and implement it into our products immediately.Β
Β
How our products are made.
We do not pour resins but use 3D printed plastics. We have spent over a year testing and iterating through countless plastic types and manufacturers. We worked with a manufacturer in the US to find the right plastic that works best for climbing holds and allows us to make holds that work as well as polyurethane resin. We also use cold rolled stainless steel hardware to ensure that holds can be used and move without issue. We have put countless hours climbing and testing these holds on our test wall, before we felt that they were ready for release.
Β
We do this for a few reasons.
- We can price our products 40% less than the majority of hold producers.
- Low manufacturing overhead and production without harmful chemical storage.
- The holds feel pretty good, like a old PE resin or hardwood holds. Appropriate texture on hold areas to force gripping rather than hanging on skin. A love child of resin holds and wood holds.
- Allows us to introduce and iterate new products faster without barriers
- Faster turn around for our customers, we aim to have holds to you in a couple weeks.
Our materials are stronger than most low cost CNC wood holds in the market but, have some limitations such as operating temperatures, ability to over tighten or potential to chip due on the thin base edge to misuse.Β
Β
Our promise to improve.
We also will continue to improve our commitment to quality control and every hold is hand inspected to ensure each set is perfect. If anytime during the holds life something is not rightΒ Contact Us so we can fix it for you that is Our Promise.
