A homage to the 90s; the era that helped define the modern style of bouldering but, long left behind those resin beauties which are iconic for that era.
THE INSPIRATION
Resin holds help shape and build modern indoor climbing and give direction to where it is today. For years it was the only plastic for holds, and a whole generation of hard climbing happened on polyester resin before polyurethane existed as a real option.
Urethane eventually won the gym for good reasons: lighter, nearly unbreakable, flexible enough to bolt onto a slab without splitting. Better tool, mostly. But resin stayed the reference point, the surface everything since gets referenced against.
The love for it has everything to do with grip. Resin holds are wear resistant but, smooth and cold to the touch with a surface that gets better and better with age.
The holds came with that classic look. Muted color palette marbled through with swirls of contrasting colors. That's where this palette comes from: teal green, orange, and purple, contrasted against black and white, all pulled back and run together the way resin did it. A nod to the way resin looked, not a copy of what it was.
